The Kang Yatse I expedition is a professionally guided high-altitude climbing experience crafted for ambitious mountaineers aiming to push their limits in the remote wilderness of Ladakh. Towering at 6,400 meters, Kang Yatse I dominates the skyline of the Markha Valley and presents a more technical and demanding ascent compared to its neighboring peaks. The journey begins with a gradual trek through traditional Ladakhi villages, river crossings, and vast high-altitude landscapes, allowing proper acclimatization while immersing climbers in the rich culture and raw beauty of the region.
As the expedition progresses, the team establishes base camp and advanced camps on glaciated terrain, where climbers undergo technical training sessions including rope work, crampon techniques, and ice climbing skills under the supervision of certified Himalaya Alpine guides. The climb itself involves navigating steep snow slopes, icy ridgelines, and exposed sections that demand both physical endurance and mental resilience. Summit day is a challenging yet rewarding push, often starting in the early hours, leading to breathtaking panoramic views of the Zanskar and Karakoram ranges from the top.

This is an excellent opportunity to shop or rent any items that may be missing or inadequate, as identified during the gear check.
Begin your day with an early morning walk to Shanti Stupa, where you will enjoy panoramic views and help your body adjust to the altitude. After returning, the team leader will provide a detailed expedition briefing, covering essential information about the climb, safety protocols, and daily expectations. Post-lunch, you will visit the historic Leh Palace, followed by a final visit to the market for any last-minute shopping or rentals, ensuring you are fully prepared for the journey ahead.
